Short version: the app is free, it is gardening advice rather than professional agronomy, the identification is a machine's best guess, and you should never eat anything on the strength of it.
Identification and edibility
Never eat any mushroom, plant or part of a plant on the strength of an app identification. Mistakes are potentially fatal. The identification feature is for curiosity and garden management. It is not a foraging tool, it is not a safety check, and it is wrong often enough to kill you if you treat it as one.
The same caution applies in a smaller way to everything else the app tells you. Growing advice, sowing windows, pest identifications and remedy suggestions are drawn from horticultural sources and tuned to one stretch of coast. They are a good starting point, not a guarantee, and they cannot see your particular garden.
Using the app
- Accounts are for adults aged 18 and over.
- Creating an account — with an email address or with Google — means you accept these terms and have read the privacy notice. If they change in a way that matters, the date at the top changes and we tell you.
- One account per person. Do not create accounts in bulk.
- Do not use the identification feature in a way designed to exhaust it for other people. It is capped for exactly that reason.
- What you put in your garden is yours. We do not claim any right to it, and we do not sell it.
Testing phase
The app is in a testing phase. Features will change, sometimes without warning, and improvements arrive automatically when you open the app with a connection. Your garden data is kept through updates. If something breaks, tell us — that is the point of the test.
Availability
The app is free and provided as it is. It depends on services we do not control — hosting, an identification API, a weather API — and any of them can be unavailable. Most of the reference library works offline, which is deliberate.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, TeddyGreenFingers is not liable for loss arising from use of the app, including crop losses, misidentification, or advice that did not suit your garden. Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded.
