Deleting your account

Last updated 5 September 2026

You can delete your TeddyGreenFingers account and everything in it yourself, from inside the app, without asking anyone. If you have already uninstalled it, write to us and we will do it for you.

If you still have the app

  1. Open TeddyGreenFingers and go to Settings.
  2. Tap Delete my account.
  3. Confirm twice. The second confirmation is deliberate — this cannot be undone.

If you would like to keep a copy first, tap Export my data in the same screen before you delete. It hands you the whole account in one file.

The deletion itself runs on our server, in order: photos, then gardens and records, then your profile and sign-in. It does not depend on your phone finishing the job, and it does not report success until everything is gone.

If you have already uninstalled it

Email info@teddygreenfingers.com from the address you signed up with, and ask for your account to be deleted. Sending from that address is how we know it is you — we will not delete an account on the word of a different address.

We will confirm within 30 days, and in practice much sooner.

What is deleted

  • Your profile and your sign-in.
  • Every garden where you are the only member, and everything in it: beds, plantings, harvests, tasks, stock, journal entries and photographs.
  • The link between you and the identification log and usage events. The counts stay; your account is no longer attached to them.

What is not

If you share a garden with someone else, that garden stays with them. It is theirs as much as it was yours, and deleting your account should not take away their beds and their harvest records. Ownership passes to another member, and anything you wrote stays but is no longer attributed to you.

A copy of the database is taken daily and kept for seven days, so for up to a week after deletion your data can still exist inside one of those copies. Nobody reads them and they are never restored for one person. After that week it is gone from those too. This is described in the privacy notice.
