Iron phosphate slug pellets

Pellets de fosfato de ferro · efficacy high · evidence strong · bees safe

How it works

Slugs eat the bait, stop feeding immediately and retreat underground to die. The iron phosphate breaks down into soil nutrients.

Recipe

Scatter thinly - about 5-7 pellets per plant, never a ring or a pile.

How to apply

Apply in the evening on damp soil when slugs are active. Refresh after heavy rain.

Supplies: Iron phosphate slug pellets

Days to harvest after spraying: 0

Best months: not recorded

Cautions

Approved for organic growing and far safer around dogs and hedgehogs than old metaldehyde pellets, but not zero-impact - keep to targeted use around vulnerable seedlings.

The thing people get wrong

Thin scattering works better than heaps. A pile of pellets is easy for a slug to walk around; a thin spread means it meets one wherever it travels.
