Conditions

Wet springs; spores overwinter on fallen leaves beneath the tree.

Treatment

Nothing rescues marked fruit; slow it with sulphur; thin for airflow.

Prevention

RAKE AND REMOVE fallen leaves in autumn (breaks the cycle); copper at leaf fall and bud burst; resistant varieties.
